Reformer Sculpt
A strength-focused reformer class in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. A slower tempo, light weights and longer holds build muscle endurance at a moderate to high intensity, in a class of ten or fewer. Best once Foundations or Flow feels familiar.

What a class looks like
Fifty slow, strong minutes.
Each class starts with breath and a reformer warm up, then slows everything down. Exercises run to a counted tempo, often three counts out and three back, so the springs keep working through the whole range.
Light dumbbells come in for standing lunges, arm work and a kneeling series, with longer holds and small pulses at the end of each block. Your instructor tells you when to go lighter and when to add a spring.
Expect to feel the work in the muscles you used, with form always ahead of load. We finish with a stretch for the hips, back and shoulders before you step off the reformer.
Who it is for
Made for
Members confident in Foundations or Flow
Anyone who wants a strength focus on the reformer
Runners, surfers and gym regulars adding control

Check with a physio first

Are managing acute back, neck or joint pain
Have osteoporosis or a recent fracture
Are pregnant or have recently given birth

Benefits
Muscle endurance
A slow tempo and longer holds ask each muscle group to keep working, rep after rep.
Strength with control
Light weights add load while the reformer keeps every movement steady and supported.
Form under load
Learn to keep a neutral spine and steady shoulders as the work gets harder.
What members say
Member review
“I came to Sculpt from the gym and thought light weights would be easy. Mia’s tempo changed my mind in the first ten minutes.”

FAQ
Am I ready for Sculpt?
If you can set up the reformer on your own and hold a neutral spine through a Foundations or Flow class, you are ready. Your instructor will also suggest it.
How heavy are the weights?
Light. Most members use dumbbells between 0.5 and 2 kg. The tempo and springs provide the challenge, not the weight in your hands.
How is Sculpt different from Reformer Burn?
Sculpt is slow and strength-led, with weights and long holds. Burn is high intensity, with cardio intervals on the jumpboard between strength blocks.
Will I be sore after class?
Some muscle fatigue the next day is common, especially in your first few weeks. Many members pair Sculpt with one Restore class in the same week.
How many people are in a class?
Ten at most, one per Merrithew reformer, so your instructor can see and correct every rep.
