What a class looks like
Fifty strong, sweaty minutes.
Each class starts with a short warm up on the reformer, then the jumpboard goes on. Jump intervals are timed, usually under a minute, with a recovery block of footwork or core work between each round.
Strength blocks follow on the carriage: lunges, planks, arm work and a side-lying series at a quicker pace than Sculpt. Your instructor gives a no-jump option for every interval, so you can keep working without the bounce.
Expect your heart rate to rise and settle through the class, and to finish with a slow stretch while it comes down. Most members take Burn once or twice a week alongside Flow, Sculpt or Restore.

Benefits
Cardio intervals
Timed rounds on the jumpboard lift your heart rate, then let it settle before the next one.
Strength between rounds
Strength blocks on the carriage work legs, core and arms while you catch your breath.
Control at pace
Keep the alignment and breath you learned in Foundations as the tempo picks up.
What members say
Member review
“Burn is the hardest fifty minutes of my week and the one I never skip. Tom keeps the energy up and still notices when my knees drift.”

FAQ
Am I ready for Burn?
Burn suits members with a steady Pilates base, usually a few months of Foundations, Flow or Sculpt. If you are unsure, ask your instructor or try Sculpt first.
What is a jumpboard?
A padded board that fits onto the end of the reformer. You lie on the carriage and jump against it, with the springs carrying your weight.
What if I do not want to jump?
Tell your instructor before class. Every interval has a no-jump option, such as footwork or a single-leg press on the same springs.
What should I bring and wear?
Fitted activewear, grip socks and a water bottle. Fresh towels are here for you, and grip socks are available at the front desk.
How many people are in a class?
Ten at most, one per Merrithew reformer and jumpboard, so your instructor can see and correct every rep.
